I need an instructor's signature in order to add a class. How do I contact an instructor?  How do I obtain an instructor's signature?

It is very rare that new students will need to obtain an instructor’s signature in order to register for a course. In many cases, the Center for Academic Services can assist and/or register you for any courses.  Transfer students and other students may need an instructor's consent if they have not met certain prerequisites but feel prepared for the course. 

Any student may email and/or call an instructor.  Be sure to leave a message, as some instructors are not always readily available during the summer and winter terms.  You may obtain contact information by clicking the “Directories” button on the top-right of Hamline's homepage. If you obtain an instructor's permission to add a class via email, you should forward that email to cas@hamline.edu.
