Theatre Arts Facilities
The department of Theatre Arts is fortunate to have three professional-level performance spaces on campus.
Anne Simley Theatre
The Anne Simley Theatre is located in the Drew Fine Arts Complex and was built in 1983. This the primary performance space on campus and is used for student shows as well as dance concerts, theatre events, and public lectures and conferences. The space is available for rent through Classroom and Space Management at 651-523-2474 or ces@hamline.edu.
Studio 67
Studio 67 is located in Drew Hall and is a small black-box performance space that supports one-act
productions, dance and acting rehearsals, and directing scenes. The space has a
main performance area, an elevated control booth, and a small dressing
room/storage area. Studio 67 is regularly used for classes and College performances during the
academic year. The space is available for rental during breaks and during the
summer.
TV Studio
The TV Studio is located in the basement of Bush Library and is a small production facility that is used to support a series
of student produced shows, to develop instructional videos, and as a teaching space
for theatre and broadcast journalism courses. The Studio consists of a studio
space, a control booth, and an adjacent digital sound studio that uses the studio
space as a larger recording space. Access to the space is limited to students working on approved projects. This
space is not available for public rental.
