    Will Khoury-Hanold '10

A biology and Spanish major from Kingsford, Michigan, Will is also captain of the swim team at Hamline.

    Two-time researcher
This will be my second summer conducting collaborative research in the immunology lab. Not only is it a wonderful learning experience and a chance to work one-on-one with a professor, but I also receive a stipend and summer housing on campus.

    Cancer fighter
Sometimes the best way to figure out how something is supposed to work is to study what it looks like when it’s broken. Analyzing what happens when a gene is defective or when a cell is removed sheds light on what interactions are taking place when everything returns to normal.

    Graduate school bound
Lab experience will be a crucial component of my application to graduate programs. Having varied research demonstrates my commitment to the field and my enthusiasm for the work. Even more important, however, will be the letters of recommendation sent by my advisors.
