Paralegal Internships All students in Hamline University’s Paralegal Certificate* program must enroll in LGST 5900 (Legal Studies Practicum) and complete a 150-hour paralegal internship in an approved law firm or legal environment of their choice. If you are an employer interested in hosting a Hamline paralegal intern, you may contact our Career Development Center for more information. Paralegal Internship Information *Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to clients or to the public, except as permitted by law. A paralegal certificate does not qualify the recipient to sit for the bar examinatior or work as a lawyer. Service Learning Growing out of Hamline University's vision to be "locally engaged and globally connected," the Legal Studies Department strives to cultivate the civic knowledge, skills and values that will best equip students to take meaningful civic action and create sustainable social change. All courses are offered on a space-available basis with instructor approval. If you are an alumnus who would like to register for a course audit and receive the fee waiver, please complete the Undergraduate Audit Form located on the Registration and Recordsweb site and email it to the Legal Studies department indicating your request for an alumni waiver on the form. You will be notified if the registration and fee waiver is approved.
