Internships, Service Learning, Careers & Post-Graduate Opportunities

Hamline's Legal Studies Department offers a Legal Studies Major, as well as an American Bar Association approved Paralegal Certificate*. Hamline University has a full service Career Development Center that provides many excellent opportunities from resume help to job search strategies. Students and graduates may access current internship and job openings on Hamline Career Link.

    * Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to clients or to the public, except as permitted by law. A paralegal certificate does not qualify the recipient to sit for the bar examination or work as a lawyer.

    Paralegal Internships

All students in Hamline University’s Paralegal Certificate program must enroll in LGST 5900 (Legal Studies Practicum) and complete a 150-hour paralegal internship in an approved law firm or legal environment of their choice.
