Scholarships
The Department of Mathematics sponsors two academic
scholarships:
- The Lindgren Scholarship was established in 1972 by Ivar
Lindgren '23, as a memorial to his brother Carl Rudyard Lindgren '22. Proceeds
are used to assist Junior and Senior students planning to major in mathematics.
Recipients in their Junior year will generally have their scholarship renewed
for their Senior year and do not need to reapply for the scholarship.
- The Albrecht Scholarship was established in 1997 by friends
of Norm Albrecht, a Hamline alumnus. Proceeds are also used to assist Junior
and Senior students planning to major in mathematics.
The Department also gives awards for academic achievement to
first and second year students.
