College of Liberal Arts Faculty

The 210 faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts are scholars, practitioners, teachers, leaders, and artists. The dedicated faculty is consistently noted by students and alumni as the defining element of their Hamline experience.

  • Ninety-nine percent of full-time faculty hold a PhD or highest degree in their field.
  • Student-faculty ratio is 13:1.
  • 101 faculty are full time; 109 faculty are part time, and include coaches, librarians, deans, and other staff who teach in addition to their other duties, as well as part-time adjuncts who are practitioners (lawyers, forensic scientists, musicians) and bring their professional expertise into the classroom.
