Young Writers Workshop Write. Learn. Share. Connect. A Creative Writing Day Camp for Ages 15-18 JUNE 19-22, 2017 The Hamline Young Writers Workshop is a chance for high school students who are passionate about creative writing to explore the craft, prepare for college, connect with other young writers in the Twin Cities, and work closely with Hamline Creative Writing faculty and published authors. Our schedule provides four extended days on our beautiful St. Paul campus, during which students will: Receive in-depth instruction/time with a published author in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, or writing the college essay each day. Participate in afternoon elective courses in specific creative writing topics or college essay preparedness. Explore our "Literary Twin Cities" on a field-trip. Strengthen their sense of literary study and career paths through a panel discussion with published authors. Inspire their confidence as writers through a concluding community reading.
