Muria Kruger earned her B.A. in philosophy, summa cum laude, from Hamline University in 1998 and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2001. Muria currently works as the Director of International and Graduate Programs at the University of Minnesota Law School where she administers and advises the LL.M. (Masters of Law) program for foreign lawyers and manages the Law School’s seven exchange programs for J.D. students. She also teaches LL.M. Legal Research and Writing. Prior to returning to the Law School, Muria worked as an associate at Heins Mills & Olson PLC, a law firm specializing in class action litigation, primarily in the areas of securities and antitrust. Right after law school, Muria was a project assistant to the Bellow-Sacks Access to Civil Legal Services Project in Boston, Massachusetts, a project working to increase civil legal access to lower and middle income individuals. Muria has also worked for David Weissbrodt, the U.S. expert to the U.N. Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection for Human Rights. In addition to assisting Mr. Weissbrodt at the U.N. Sub-commission meetings each July-August for three years in Geneva, Switzerland, Mr. Weissbrodt and Muria co-authored several articles on human rights codes of conduct for businesses.
