Anne Simley Theatre

A visual tour of the Anne Simley Theatre space

The Anne Simley Theatre is located in the Drew Fine Arts Complex. The Theatre was built in 1983. The architect for the project was Hammel, Green and Abramson and the theatre consultant was Ned Lustig.
Entering through the doors brings you into the spacious lobby. The area has display space for all of the Division of Fine Arts programs, an art gallery wall and moveable display boards. The lobby can also be configured as a dinner or meeting space and will seat between 60 to 85 at tables.
This is the view of the house from the stage. There are 289 fixed seats and the the capacity can be expanded to 300 by adding additional chairs. The theatre has three wheelchair positions in the middle of the house at stage right. The stage floor is black linoleum over plywood which rests on resilient foam blocks.
This is the view of the stage from the rear catwalk. The apron is composed of moveable sections that can be lowered to form an orchestra pit and there are a set of traps in the middle of the stage. The proscenium opening is 35'-6" wide and 22'-0" tall.
The Green Room is just off the stage right actor's exit. The room is intercom equipped and set up so that the action on stage can be heard and seen via the house monitor system. There is a small refrigerator, coffee pots, a sink and comfortable seating. The CallBoard is just outside the Green Room.
