Performances

  • Tony Czech performed in Urinetown, a Tony Award-Winning musical with music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis. It was performed at the Bloomington Civic Theatre on October 19th - November 17th. 
  • Michelle Storm has generated a lot of interest and involvement from several AEA actors for her production of Live to Draw on Saturday, March 24 2007.
  • Alayne Hopkins starred in Adventures in Mating at the Bryant Lake Bowl on Wednesday, February 14 and Monday February 19. Visit the Bryant Lake Bowl Cabaret Theatre website for more information.
  • Nicole Joy Brunsvold (2005) just finished working on The Action Against Sol Schumann directed by Hamline Professor Carolyn Levy at the Minnesota Jewish Theatre Co. Performances ran from October 21 through November 12, 2006.
  • Several Hamline Alum were involved in The Theatre de la Jeune Lune's 2006-2007 productions of The Miser and Tartuffe. Julia Reisinger was on the production staff, Jon Kirchhofer helped as an electrician, and Megan Smith was a part of the production crew.
  • Kit (Kristin) Bennett is currently in LA and working on several commercials. Watch for her on Lifetime, Oxygen, TLC, and QVC on cable television.
  • Nick Sagan (2006) showcased some of his drawings and paintings at Ginko Coffeehouse in November, 2006.
  • Brian O'Neal (2004) has been working on You Burn Me: Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, Remade presented by nimbus theatre at the Minneapolis Theater Garage, September 8-24, 2006.
  • Joel Bischoff took part in "An Evening of Brecht, Pinter and Fo" presented by The Hyphenate Theatre, September 22-24, 2006. He performed in In Search of Justice by Bertolt Brecht and The New World Order by Harold Pinter.
  • Alayne Hopkins appeared in An Empty Plate in the Cafe du Grand Boeuf, a Girl Friday production at the Cedar Riverside People's Center Theatre.
  • Brian O'Neal (2004) appeared in The Mandrake with the 4th Street Theatre in St. Paul.
  • Ryan Hill premiered and directed his new play, Victoria in Red, with the Sandbox Theatre in Minneapolis, MN.
  • Amanda (Stillwell) Sterling (1999) directed Why We Have a Body at the Minneapolis Fringe Festival.
  • Emily Burton directed a children's operetta The Magic Beanstalk for the Upstage Musical Theatre Workshop.

Weddings

  • Ryan Mayer (2005) and Audrey Geiger (2007) were married on December 30, 2006. Click here to view pictures from their wedding.
  • Cindy Bauer and Nathaniel Windau were married on July 9, 2005 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Minneapolis.
  • Leah Fleming and Adam Dahl were married at the Alyeska Prince Hotel in Girdwood. Alaska on August 2, 2005
  • Erin Marie Gebhart and Corey Michael Hayes were married on August 20th, 2005 at the Whispering Gardens in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
  • Jada Odom sent word that she was getting married on October 22, 2005.

In Memoriam

  • Robert Heimerl (1957) recently passed away at the age of 70. A retired teacher and director at Stillwater High School and active member of REAM (Retired Educators Association of MN), Heimerl, his memorials should be preferred to the Stillwater High School Theatre Dept. 
  • Dwayne Averill (1953) passed away on November 7, 2005. A philosophy major, Averill was active in the Hamline University Theatre Department. After Hamline, he earned his bachelor of sacred theology degree and PhD in philosophy from Yale. Averill worked for many years as a United Methodist minister.

  • Per Olson has been working as an electrician at the Open Eye Theater in Minneapolis. Visit www.openeyetheatre.org for information on their current shows.
  • Jordan Woods-Wahl has accepted an offer from the California Institute of the Arts to attend graduate school at their facility beginning August 2007.
  • Chris Heagle has left his position at the Children's Theatre Company for a spot as one of three for the national radio classical music program Performance Today, produced out of St. Paul at MPR/American Public Media.
  • Representative Tony Sertich was elected the new majority leader of the DFL Party in the Minnesota House of Representatives in early 2007.
  • Jada Odom Smith gave birth to her daughter, Jordyn De'Anna Smith, on Saturday, November 18, 2006. Click here to see a picture of the newborn girl!

  • Angela Tilliges is now working with the Redmoon Theater performance group. She was also the assistant director of The Cabinet a puppet show based on the the film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. You can check out the redmoon theatre at www.redmoon.org.
  • Ryan Sorenson has been accepted to the accelerated nursing program at John Hopkins University. If all goes well he will be graduating in July 2006.
  • Gregory Giles was named the Director of Major Gifts at the new Guthrie Theater.
  • Lucille and Todd McGonagle were on campus to initate a new theatre scholarship program.
  • Julia Resinger has been working as the Assistant Technical Director at the Theatre de la Jeune Lune and also often runs the light board for the productions.
  • Peter Verrant stopped by campus looking for props for a movie project that he's working on.
  • Dan Olson and Derek Johnson are continuing in the MFA program at Chapman University in California. They were joined this fall by Gretel Nippoldt who has also been accepted into the program.
