
R. Kim Guenther grew up in suburban Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois, with a B.A. in Psychology. Kim obtained a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he specialized in memory, language processing, and visual cognition.
Kim first came to Hamline University in 1977 where he continues to teach courses in Cognitive Psychology; The Psychology of Language; Statistics; Sleep, Dreams, Imagination; and Extraterrestrial Intelligence. His current research interests include memory for disturbing experiences, false memories, and language disorders. Kim has published a textbook titled "Human Cognition" and is working on an introductory statistics textbook.
When not contemplating how the mind works, reading mystery and science fiction novels, or fantasizing about winning the Academy Award for best screenplay, Kim is a loving husband of Donna Greenfield and devoted father of son Jacob.
