• Holt Endowed Fellowship Student Application

    Travel abroad to discover the diverse and changing world in which businesses, organizations, and communities operate. 

    The Holt Endowed Fellowship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree at the Hamline School of Business.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Enrolled as a degree-seeking student in an HSB graduate program or a declared major or minor in an undergraduate HSB program
    • Good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Admitted to an HSB-approved study abroad program
    • Successful completion of at least two semesters of study prior to undertaking in the international experience

    Additional Materials

    • Personal statement of 1-2 pages which include the following
      • A description of the relevance of your chosen study abroad experience to your academic, professional, and personal goals. 
      • An indication whether you have traveled outside of the United States, followed by a description in summary form of the places visited and when.
      • An indication of whether there is financial need. Although a factor to be considered in awarding the fellowship, financial need is not a prerequisite for application or award.
       
    • Current resume
    • Two letters of professional and/or academic recommendation on a letterhead. The letters should address the applicant's professional qualifications or academic achievements.

    Openings and Deadlines

    • Fall: Opens April 1 and closes May 16
    • J-Term & Spring: Opens September 5 and closes October 5
    • Summer: Opens January 5 and closes February 2

    Selection Criteria

     

    The Holt Endowed Fellowship will review completed applications according to the mission, vision, and values of the Holt Fellowship. 

    Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a Holt Endowed Fellowship. 

    Special consideration will be given to students who establish financial need.  

    Award Notification

    Holt Fellow candidates will be notified electronically approximately two weeks after the application deadline. 

    Holt Fellow Candidate Responsibilities

    • Submit a written report to the Holt Endowed Fellowship Committee upon completion of the international experience
    • Attend an annual Holt Endowed Fellowship event
