Indonesia: a selective guide to scholarly and informative resources
Well things political are always a mystery in Indonesia and I have
absolutely no idea what will happen. Method A involves consulting the
electronic oracles. (For one style of analysis of recent events consult
the relevant pages at Stratfor Asia Intelligence Center (USA).) Method B
involves tea-leaves, a small ceramic duck, and the recitation of mantras in
a preferably dead language. Results tend to be identical. Otherwise I hope
that you will find access to the information you want in the following pages.

Amnesty International
Highlights (or lowlights?) of Amnesty International Report 1999 covering
events from January to December 1998
Let's see how Indonesia fares at the hands of Amnesty International.
However, don't be too smug! I think that Australians and Americans alike
should have a good look at the listings for their own countries! Human
Rights are everybody's problem.

National Library of Australia: Indonesian Internet Sites
If all this chaos is too much, then see how a real librarian organizes a
site on Indonesia (Many thanks to Oliver Mann in Jakarta).
These pages are (very inadequately) maintained by Michael Laffan and will
hopefully put you on the right track. My fellow (and more efficient)
maintainer Colin Rundle has taken my example and wandered overseas.
Regular visitors will note that these pages are undergoing a period of
downsizing but hopefully an increase in useful content. There are,
therefore, no longer any references to beaches and fun stuff. Nonetheless
please let
me know if there is something that you are looking for but couldn't find
here. If you are uncertain as to the sort of content that you will find
here, please read this.
