MARRIOTT ENTERS EXCLUSIVE COOPERATION DEAL WITH INDONESIAN FIRM

JAKARTA, Oct 30 (AFP) - Marriott Hotels of the United States signed
Wednesday an exclusive cooperation agreement with P.T. Duta Anggada Realty
(DAR) for the development of hotels in Indonesia.
Under the agreement, DAR, a subsidiary of the Gunung Sewu group, one of
Indonesia's top 10 business groups, will build hotels throughout Indonesia.
Marriott will manage these hotels, DAR President Director Hartadi Angkosubroto
said at the signing ceremony here.
DAR was planning to start the construction of a 90-million-dollar,
five-star hotel here at the end of 1992, Angkosubroto said, adding that it
would mark the entrance of the Gunung Sewu group into the hotel market segment.
Gunung Sewu mainly deals in manufacturing, construction and financial
services.
The 400-room Jakarta J.W. Marriott hotel, slated to open at the end of
1995 would be Marriott's flagship hotel in Indonesia.
