  • Special Admission

    The Hamline School of Business offers special admission for qualified master-level applicants who do not wish to be degree candidates or who would like to try out our classes for Public Administration and Nonprofit Management programs. The MBA program special status application is reserved for prerequisite course work only.

    Students may take up to three courses under special admission status. Courses may later be applied toward degree requirements provided satisfactory grades were achieved.


    A special admission applicant must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

    Special admission is not open to international applicants.

    • Assistant professor in the School of Education, Letitia Basford, and Muffet Trout, a professor from St. Thomas, recently presented at the Philadelphia at American Educational Research Association Conference where they shared numerous pedagogical insights for how to model and teach cultural competence effectively to students.
    • School of Business Honorary Professor of Practice Reid Zimmerman's new book The Seven Deadly Sayings of Nonprofit Leaders, was released this week.
    • Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to make their summer count at Hamline. More than 80 classes will be offered this summer, allowing students to get into classes that they haven't had time to fit in their schedule or get ahead and graduate early.
