Caitlin Nosanov will probably sleep very well tonight. The junior goalie got a workout Saturday, knocking aside 42 shots but the Wis-Superior Yellowjackets finally wore the HU women's hockey team out for a 4-1 win at Vadnais Heights Sports Complex.
Hamline fell to 0-2 on the season.
Unlike Friday's 6-1 loss, the Pipers stayed tight with UWS in the first period, surrendering a late goal for a 1-0 disadvantage. The score stayed stuck at that margin into the third period when UWS struck again. This brought Hamline to life and they halved the margin when Haleigh Bolton banged her first collegiate goal home on a power play at 8:21.
But the Yellowjackets (2-0) completed the weekend sweep with two goals in the final six minutes.
Hamline returns to action Nov. 3 with a non-conference game against St. Catherine's at Vadnais Heights. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
