That was a heckuva final act for HI freshman Katie Ayres (pictured). She had 14 of her team's 33 kills and added 13 digs but the Piper volleyball team fell to Augsburg, 3-0, in the season finale for both teams.
Despite the loss, Hamline finished with a winning recdord for the first time since 2007. Their 18-12 overall mark represented the most wins by a HU volleyball team in 17 years.
And they played it tough against the Auggies, dropping the first and third sets by 25-20 and the middle stanza by 26-24.
In addition to Ayres' notable farewell performance, Becka Mozes had 30 assists and 14 digs. Lynsey Reimer led the way with 19 digs.
For the second year in a row, Hamline has no graduating seniors on their team.
