Hamline's volleyball team ran into a brick wall in the form of a solid St. Mary's performance and dropped a 3-0 decision to the Cardinals in Winona Saturday. The Pipers struggled in the first set, never leading in a 25-18 setback. In the middle set, SMU broke away from a 12-all deadlock for a 25-14 decision. The Pipers dropped the third set as well, 25-16. Sam Greeney-Hamlin was the top attacker with nine kills. Becka Mozes had 18 assists and Lynsey Reimer (pictured) contributed 17 digs.
HU is now 18-10 overall (1-8 MIAC) and returns home to finish up the season next week with matches against St. Thomas (Oct. 24) and Augsburg (Oct. 26).
