Women's Soccer Looking to Keeping Playoff Hopes Afoot

Celebration St. Olaf

Like the autumn skies, the playoff hopes of some of the MIAC women's soccer teams darken a bit with a loss. But win a game and the world suddenly can be a brighter, happier place. The Pipers hope the latter will be the case Saturday when they host St. Mary's at Paterson Field. Game time is 1:00 p.m.

Hamline is 7-3-1 overall but 2-3-1 in the MIAC. The good news is this leaves them two points of the final playoff spot. the bad news is there are currently five teams tied for a spot where only two can go. To leap past some of those teams will require the Pipers to get on a winning streak pronto.

Saturday's game will see two of the league leaders in action. Hamline's Aileen Scheibner is tied for the league lead in goals with 8. St. Mary's goalie Miranda Halling leads the league in saves with 84. A live stats feed will be available by clicking here or going to the front page of the website.

After the match with Cardinals (0-11, 0-5 MIAC), Hamline only has one home MIAC match left. They also have a non-conference affair with Wis-Superior on October 9 at 4:00 p.m.
