Brendan Ruter (at right) had the top individual finish as the Piper men finished 10th and the women came in 11th at the Blue-Gold Invitational in Eau Claire, Wis. Friday. Ruter navigated the 5-mile course in 26:06.25 to finish in 27th place. Nate Dobbins was 43rd and Nathan Rock came in 47th. Hamline finished with 266 points, 10th in the field of 17 teams.
Maria Theisen came in 45th, the top finish for the women's team. Her time of 23:17.82 paced the Pipers. Emily Smith was 50th with Cassie Ernst close behind at 51st. As a team. Hamline finished with 285 points, good for 11th among the 17 teams competing.
