Volleyball Looking To Even Up MIAC Mark At St. Ben's

Karley Kilian attack

With three straight four match sweeps at tournaments, the Hamline volleyball team has shown it can win in bunches and on weekends. Now they look to add singles and weeknights to their winning routine. The Pipers take a 12-1 overall mark (0-1 in the MIAC) to St. Joseph Wednesday night for a midweek MIAC matchup with St. Benedict (11-3, 1-0).

Hamline has already won three more matches than they did in all of 2011. But if the Pipers' dream of making the MIAC playoffs this year is to become a reality, they will need to repeat their weekend successes. The Pipers enter the match ranked second in the league in Kill Percentage (.213) and third in Digs (18.31 per set). Their opponent was picked to be second in the coaches' pre-season poll. CSB has won five straight matches, a streak that started with a 3-2 win over Augsburg last Wednesday.

The Pipers continue the role of road warriors this Saturday, September 22 when they visit St. Olaf. That match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
