It might be the best wat to forget about a tough loss. 27 hours after battling Bethel to the wire in a 2-1 loss, Hamline's men's soccer team takes to Paterson Field for a 4:00 p.m. Sunday non-conference game against undefeated Buena Vista (4-0-0). On Saturday, the Pipers started strong but couldn't hold on against the Royals in Arden Hills. Connor Benson (pictured at right) gave HU a 1-0 lead with his second goal of the season when he converted passes from Tyler Tallaksen and Kristian Sebion at 32:00. Although they were outshot 7-5 in the half, HU left the field with a 1-0 lead.
But the Royals responded with two goals 17 minutes apart -- the winner coming with just seven minutes remaining -- take the decision. Eric Feil registered five saves in goal for Hamline, which fell to 1-4-1 overall (0-2 in the MIAC).
Today's game is the kickoff to a busy week for Hamline. They play a non-confernece game at Northwestern (Roseville) on Tuesday, September 18 at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, September 22, they return to MIAC play at Macalester in a 7:00 p.m. game.
