Aileen Scheibner (pictured at right) picked up where she left off last year. The sophomore, who tied for the league lead in scoring, nailed a pair of first half goals and assisted on the third as Hamline's women's soccer team kicked off the season with a 3-0 win at Minnesota-Morris September 1. The Pipers controlled the play most of the way, outshooting the Cougars, 17-3. Molly Jacobs posted the shutout in goal.
Scheibner opened the scoring 22:50 into the game, converting a feed from Caroline Exarhos.
Seven minutes later, Scheibner was on the other end, feeding Aubrey Stenson for her first collegiate tally. Keanna Mienert then set up Scheibner at 40:44 to finish the scoring for the day.
The Pipers, who tied a school mark last year with 10 victories, hosts Wis-River Falls on September 5 at Paterson Field at 5:00 p.,m. Next weekend, HU heads to Iowa for games against Central and Cornell.
