Even before she puts on a Hamline hockey jersey, Breanna Simon is showing her creativity with ice. This winter, the New Richmond, Wis. native will do so on the ice as a member of the Piper hockey team. This summer, she has been working with a different sort of ice. Breanna owns and operates an ice cream truck that cavorts through her hometown streets. Her story of how she came up with his unusual summer job was aired on Sunday, August 12  on KARE-TV's (Channel 11 in the Twin Cities) late-night newscast. Reporter Boyd Huppert (pictured at right helping adjust a microphone on Breanna) followed Simon for a day as she worked out on the ice in the afternoon at a hockey camp and then hawked her yummy products through the streets of New Richmond that night. It was part of Huppert's award-winning series entitled "Land of 10,000 Stories."
