Bernard Mitambo and Andrew Lutz registered two wins each as Hamline's men's tennis team claimed its first MIAC victory of the season, 5-4, over Macalester Saturday. The match was held at Lakeville's indoor facility due to inclement weather.
Mitambo rolled to a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles to improve his team leading overall mark to 12-3. Lutz had a much tougher time of it, working out a 12-10 victory in the deciding set for a three-set win at No. 3 singles. He is now 8-7 on the season.
The pair then teamed up for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. David Croonquist (No. 1 singles) and Sam Teitelbaum (no. 5 singles) scored straight set wins for Hamline, which is now 6-9 overall, 1-6 in the MIAC.
Hamline hosts Bethel April 24 at Holt Courts.
