Croonquist's Return Help Buoy Men's Tennis To First Win Of Season

David Croonquist made his season debut a day to cherish. Playing his first match of the season, Coonquist rolled to victory at No. 1 singles and teamed with Robert Becker for an 8-0 doubles win as Hamline took its first men's tennis win of the season, 7-2, over St. Scholastica Saturday.

Croonquist was one of four singles winners as the Pipers improved to 1-2 overall. He won his match is straight sets (6-1, 6-4) as did Becker at No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-3). Sam Teitelbaum and Andrew Lutz had to work a little longer but both prevailed in their matches in three sets.

Hamline swept the doubles matches. In addition to the Croonquist-Becker blanking, Teitelbaum paired with Bernard Mitambo for a 8-2 win at No. 2. Lutz and Brendan FitzPatrick ganged up for an 8-5 win as well.

The Pipers travel to St. Cloud State next Saturday.
