Hawker, Haugan Highlight HU Effort At MIAC Championships

  Ingrid Haugan continued her terrific season when she came in seventh today in the 3 Meter Diving Competition. Haugan, who will dive in the 1-Meter competition Saturday, had a total of 327.60 points. Hannah Hawker finished 11th today in the 100 Backstroke at the MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships at the U of Minnesota Aquatic Center, Hawker's time of 1:00.85 was a second better than she was earlier in the day when she qualified for the B Final.

The women's 200 Medley Relay team of Michelle Vargason, Rachel Ronnander, Erin Weslander and Hawker were 10th in a time of 1:59.28. Vargason's time of 1:12.29 landed her in an agonizing 17th place, .49 out of qualifying for the B Final in the 100 backstroke. Ronnander ended up 23rd in the 100 Fly. On the men's side the 200 medley team of Ben Smidt, Nick Herrera, Jerry Daniels and Andy Witt came in a solid sixth place in the Men's 200 medley. Wolf, Daniels, Zack Lameyer and Corbin Conliffe were seven in the 800 Relay.

 Smidt was 19th in the 100 Fly and Daniels was 24th in the Backstroke.

The event wraps up Saturday.
