One Red team came through for Hamline Thursday. Now they need a second team to do the same thing to advance to the MIAC playoffs.
St. John's defeated Bethel, 4-1, Thursday night in St. Cloud. The win guaranteed the Johnnies a postseason spot (they are currently in 4th place) and eliminated the Royals from consideration. Hamline, currently in 5th place with 15 points, has a two-point lead over Concordia going into the weekend. The Pipers, however, have finished their schedule and need the red-shirted St. Mary's Cardinals to snare two points (either a win or two ties) in the two-game series against the Cobbers in Moorhead to have a chance to defend their post-season title they won a year ago. The teams play Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
