Ford Leads Way As Piper Men Make It Two In A Row

Here is one Ford can really motor in the wintertime. Dior Ford was on fire Saturday afternoon at Memorial Auditorium in Moorhead. The freshman made the most of his second straight appearance in the starting lineup with 17 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals as Hamline's men bb team made it two wins in a row with a solid 80-66 decision over host Concordia.

The Pipers are an even 2-2 in the MIAC. They stand 3-4 overall and will try to even that mark as well when they host CalTech in a non-conference game Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Hutton Arena.

The visitors made themselves feel at home right away Saturday, jumping to a 11-2 lead in the first three minutes of play and never looking back. In addition to Ford's heroics, Mike Campbell had 13 points and Christian Taber added 11 off the bench. Hamline shot a season high 54 per cent from the field, much of it in the paint where they outscored the Cobbers, 38-24.

They kept CC from getting back in the game by hitting five three-pointers in the second half and shooting 58 per cent.

The Pipers will play their fourth game in eight days Tuesday when they host the Beavers. Note the unusual game time: 5:00 p.m.
