Hamline's men's hockey team has seen enough of Wisconsin for a while. The Pipers dropped their second in a row in the Badger state, losing 5-3 to UW-Eau Claire Saturday night at Hobbs Arena. Jordan Van Gilder had two goals and an assist but it wasn't enough as HU fell to 2-2 on the season.
Cory Belisle got things off on the right skate, converting passed from Van Gilder and Nick Widing at 9:38 for a 1-0 lead. But the Blugolds scored the next four goals to lead 4-1 after two frames. Van Gilder then combined with Brian Arrigoni and Joe Rubbelke for a pair of third period goals to make it 4-3 with 14:48 to play. UWEC scored 23 seconds later, though and the Pipers couldn't cash in again.
