Soccer Teams Kick Off Big Week With Games Against St. Olaf

As the MIAC soccer season hits the 1/3 mark, both Hamline soccer teams face key tests today against St. Olaf. The men play the Oles at Paterson Field at 4:00 p.m. The Pipers rallied from an early deficit against defending regular season champ Macalester to tie the game on a goal by Ibou Wone (Dakar, Senegal) with just 11 minutes remaining. The Scots came back to win it, however, 2-1. The Pipers, 2-5-1 overall, stand 0-2-1 in the MIAC will be tested by an Ole team that is off to an 8-1 overall start, 2-0-0 in the MIAC.

There is no admission charge for the game.

The women saw their school record seven-game unbeaten streak when they dropped  their first game of the season last Friday night at Macalester, 1-0.  They are an even 1-1-1 in the conference. The Pipers  travel to Northfield today to face an ole team that has won all three of its conference games and is 7-0-1 overall. Hamline goalie Liz Stock (Sr., Savage, Minn.) ranks fifth in the country in the latest NCAA ratings with a .957 save percentage.
