Hamline first-year student McKenna Nerone was recently named the Youth Philanthropist of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals
in southeast Wisconsin. Nerone was honored for the “significant difference she has made through philanthropic leadership” over the last 14 years and her advocacy on behalf of sexual assault victims. In her senior year of high school, Nerone created the Denim Day Project to raise awareness of the victims of sexual assault. She also received the Wisconsin Coalition Voices of Courage Award for that project. You can read more about Denim Day and Nerone herself on the Wauwatosa Patch website.
