In collaboration with the Maya Society and the Minnesota Science Museum, Hamline University is proud to host a series of monthly lectures and workshops that coincide with the Museum's exhibit, MAYA: Hidden Worlds Revealed. Each month, leading Mayanist will give lectures and conduct workshops on areas of study regarding the Mayan civilization.
The next lecture, Hierarchy and Hegemony in the Classic Maya World, given by Simon Martin, Associate Curator, University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, will be held on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson Center Room 112. The workshop, The Serpent Story: Deciphering a Major Maya Kingdom, led by Simon Martin will be held on Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Anderson Center Room 304. Cost is $5 to the general public, Maya Society members, students (middle through secondary), Science Museum staff and volunteers are free.
