Hamline Law Professor Mary Szto gave a legal presentation at, "Foodways in China: New Scholarly Trajectories," an interdisciplinary conference at the University of Oregon held May 8-10. Her topic was Chinese contract formation and eating and drinking rituals. Conference presentations featured work from both the humanities and social sciences in the emerging field of food studies. Other presenters included leading China scholars from the U.S., Canada, England, France, and Switzerland. Conference sponsors included the Confucius Institute for Global China Studies, the Department of Geography, and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
While in Oregon, Szto met up with Hamline Law alum Cody Jordan, JD '04, who practices trusts and estates law in Eugene, Oregon, and also has offices in Minnesota.
