The Hamline Law Latino Law Student Association (LLSA) is pleased to host its 2013 Juris Fiesta celebration, "Giving Back to Help Others Move Forward,” on Friday, March 8. Hamline Law is pleased to welcome Luz Maria Frias, vice president of Community Philanthropy for the Minneapolis Foundation, as the keynote speaker for the celebration.
The evening will include exquisite Latin cuisine, dancing, and a mixture of prominent community leaders alongside promising young professionals. Juris Fiesta begins at 6 p.m. at the Profile Event Center in Minneapolis. Cost is $25 for students and their guests, and tickets are $45 for all others.
Every year, Juris Fiesta brings together law students, faculty, professionals from the legal and business sectors, and the Latino community at large. The goal of the event is to raise funds to provide a scholarship for law students at Hamline Law who demonstrate academic merit, community service, and commitment to promoting diversity.
Thanks to generous support from donors and attendees, last year’s event was a great success. In 2012, the Latino Law Student Association (LLSA) was able to disburse the fifth scholarship award based on the generous donations from local sponsors.
LLSA counts on support from the community to strengthen its scholarship fund each year. Donations can be made in the name of an organization, business, individual, or group of individuals. Purchasing individual tickets to Juris Fiesta is another way to support LLSA. All proceeds from Juris Fiesta will go toward the expansion of the Latino Law Student Scholarship, the only one of its kind among Minnesota law schools.
LLSA thanks attendees in advance for their support and commitment in the ongoing effort to promote diversity, scholarship, and building strong legal foundations within Hamline and the greater community. Please contact LLSA representative Leah Mathews at email@example.com or Hamline Law Program Manager Deb Lange at 651-523-2122 for more information or to purchase tickets.
