Pipers Land Three In Double Digits But Fall To Blazers

Danielle Daniels

The final result -- a 87-72 loss at the hands of St. Benedict -- was not what anybody wanted. But head coach Kerri Stockwell may have found another power source in the process.

Hamline got scoring from their well-known sources -- Jordan Sammons, who led them with 16 and Steph Pilgrim, who tossed in 13. But they got a real boost from Danielle Daniels, (pictured) who came off the bench to score 14 points and add a team high nine rebounds.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the Blazers ran to a 42-34 halftime margin and kept on going in the second half. HU shot a credible 47 per cent from three point range but went just 9-17 from the free throw line as they fell to 0-3 overall.

Hamline will play its first game of the season at Hutton Arena Saturday against St. Thomas at 1:00 p.m.
