In essence, this was swimming's version of a spring training game. No team scores were kept at the St. Thomas Relays held October 27. But that didn't mean people weren't paying attention to what happened in the pool.
Specifically, on the 3-Meter Diving board where HU freshman Dani Waskosky finished fourth in a field of 17 divers with a score of 179.80. Her junior teammate Ingrid Haugan was eighth with a score of 154.25.
It was the top finish by a Piper in the men's and women's competition that included several MIAC schools and Colorado College. In the swimming competition, HU did their best work in the 1100 "Animal" Relay race. The men finished in fifth place and the women came in sixth. The Pipers also claimed 7th place finishes in the Women's 300 Breast Relay (three freshmen -- Maddy Stauber, Ragan Sovell and Valerie Madden teamed up with Marissa Smith); Men's 300 Breast Relay (a pair of frosh -- Chris Sova and Ty Stanchfield joined up with Zach Lameyer and Jerry Daniels) and the Women's 300 Back Relay (Haugan, Jennie Dwyer, Stauber, Smith).
