On a chilly morning, Hamline's Marie Theisen set a brisk pace that no one could handle. The Minneapolis, Minn. senior zapped the field to win the women's title at the St. Catherine's Invitational. Theisen negotiated the 4K race in a time of 14:30.514, defeating Luther's Maggie Pierson by three seconds.
Cassie Ernst (15:08.764) finished 12th in the 152-runner field.
As a team, Hamline came in sixth in a field of seven. Andrea Haus came in 33rd followed by Dani Vitali (39th) and Hannah Toedter directly behind her.
On the men's side, Hamline placed two runners in the top eight places, finishing fourth among the five teams competing.
Nate Dobbins came in fourth in a time of 12:27.04. Nathan Rock continued to have an excellent freshman season with a 12:32.64 time, good for eighth place. Ryan Peterson was 14th (12:41.90) followed by Chris Gill (30th), Andrew Lebeau (46th) and Kade Fitzgerald (56th).
