Early Goal Too Much For Piper Women

This time, the one goal bug bit them. Hamline's women's soccer team allowed a goal in the first seven minutes of play and then turned on the jets. But Gustavus Adolphus held them off all afternoon and escaped with a 1-0 decision.

The Pipers held a 20-8 edge in shots (11-5 in shots on goal) but couldn't dent GK Jessica Richert. Jordan Sammons had five shots (four on goal) for Hamine, which fell to 7-3-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the MIAC. HU returns home to face St. Mary's Saturday, October 6 at Paterson Field at 1:00 p.m.
