Kathy Burleson, senior lecturer in biology, presented at the Introductory Biology Project (IBP) Summer Conference: Implementing Vision and Change at the Introductory Biology Level at the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington, DC, June 28-July 1, 2012. Burleson presented a poster on her work with Bonnie Ploger (Hamline professor of biology) entitled “Developing departmental diversity initiatives using surveys as a tool to gauge biology classroom climate.”

The IBP is sponsored by a grant through the National Science Foundation, and brings together biology educators, scientists, and science education specialists to promote, implement, and evaluate changes that will have lasting, significant impact on the way that introductory biology is taught.
