Deichert, McKeag Win At UnSaintly Meet

Apparently, there is no such thing as bad running weather for Hamline's Jack Deichert. The same must be true for Brennan McKeag in the Hammer Throw. Both came up winners at the annual Meet of The UnSaintly held May 5 at rainy, windy Klas Field. The unscored men's track and field event had to be shortened due to the inclement weather. But that didn't stop Deichert, who was a little more than a second off the school record in winning the 1500 Meters in a time of 3:51.92.

McKeag won his event  by nearly 10 feet with a throw of 183-02. Brennan also was second in the Shot Put with a 52-02.50 effort. Travis Latzke had HU's other second place finish with a 21-11.50 leap in the Long Jump.

The impressive field included several MIAC schools as well as representatives from D-II St. Cloud State, Minnesota State-Mankato and Concordia (St. Paul).
