Men's Track And Field Cracks NCAA Division III Top 25

Maybe there is something to this home cooking thing. Coming off a successful performance at last Friday's Hamline Invitational at Klas Field, the HU men's track and field moved up to No. 25 in the weekly UTSFCCCA poll for Division III schools. Hamline is the only MIAC school in the top 25. The Pipers' total of 42.22 points was keyed by Devin Monson's impressive 14:29.72 time in winning the 5,000 Meters. Monson's performance is the best outdoor time recorded this spring in the event. Teammate Jack Deichert has the seventh best outdoor time in 2012 with a 14:42.00.

Brennan McKeag currently sits third in the Hammer Throw with a 191-6 effort last May 13 and is ninth in the Shot Put with a 55-0 toss last May 28. For a complete listing of where teams and individuals stand in Division III, click here.

The Pipers are in action this Saturday at the Luther Invitational in Decorah, Iowa.
