The Piper tracksters finally get to to run on their sod this weekend. The first of three home meets at Klas Field is the annual Hamline Invitational this Friday, April 6. The action starts at 10:00 a.m. and will last most of the day. Hamline, Augsburg, St. Olaf, Bethel, St. John's, Concordia St. Paul, Minnesota-Duluth,
UW-Superior, St. Kate's and Northwestern (MN) are all expected to compete.
The latest USTFCCA rankings finds a pair of Pipers in the Top Ten for Division III for both the women and men's side. On the women's side, Brenna Coyle ranks sixth nationally in the Hammer Throw (173-2) and Becky Culp is seventh in the Shot Put (43-5 3/4) . Two Piper men are in the Top Ten in the Hammer Throw. Brennan McKeag sits third in the country (190-11) while Andrew Schlicting is in eighth place (182-5).
