Schlicting-McKeag Go 1-2 in Weight As Men Finish Second in Track

Andrew Schlicting edged out Brennan McKeag for the Weight Throw crown as Hamline finished a strong second in the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Macalester Saturday. Schlicting threw the weight 60-8 to set a new Leonard Center Field House record, besting Mckeag, who came in at 60-0.5.  

The Pipers had a strong performance infield events in registering 129.5 points, second only to St. Thomas. It is the fourth year they have ended up in second place in the Indoor Meet.

In addition to Schlicting and McKeag's 1-2 effort, Hamline went 4-5-6 in the triple Jump with Christian Kibler leading the way with a 43-10 performance. He was closely followed by Travis Latzke and Amani Lee in fifth and sixth place respectively.

Hamline also had a series of near triumphs. Devin Monson was second in the 3000 Meter Run. Jack Deichert came in third in the 1000 Meter Run. Same for D.J. Weil in the 200 meter dash and Mark Volker in the Pole Vault.
