Hamline's women's BB team starts its final stretch of the 2011-12 season with a road game Wednesday against Carleton at West Gymnasium in Northfield. A Piper victory would give them a sweep of the season series for the first time since the 1996-97 season. Statistics audio and video links for the game are available by clicking here.
Steph Pilgrim had a coming out party of sorts when these teams met at Hutton on January 4. Pilgrim tossed in five three-pointers as part of a season high 22-point effort that helped the Pipers to a 82-73 victory. Kara Poirier added 18. Jordan Sammons had 16 while Je'Naya Brown had 14 and a season high 10 assists.
Pilgrim, who leads the conference and is 23rd in all of Division III with 56 3-pointers, had made at least one long distance shot in all but one game she has played this season. This begins a season-ending stretch of four games in 10 days, three of which will be played away from Hutton Arena. The Pipers are at Bethel Saturday.
