Steph Pilgrim is rapidly becoming one of the top three-point shooters in the Midwest. The junior guard rifled in four three-pointers but couldn't stem the tide in a 70-51 loss to St. Benedict Saturday afternoon at Hutton Arena. Pilgrim pushed her league-leading total to 56 for the season by going 4-for-9. Her 14 points led the Piper attack. Je'Naya Brown added a dozen points for Hamline (6-15 overall, 5-13 MIAC).
The Blazers lived up to their nickname in the first half, firing away at a 48 per cent clip and taking a 39-22 intermission edge. Things evened out a bit in the second half as HU pulled within 12 points before the Blazers pulled away for good. Veronika Jakubovie led a 33-rebounding effort with six.
Hamline plays at Carleton Wednesday night.
