Benson Stands Out Again at UW-Stout

It's a trend  a Piper could learn to love. For the third meet in a row, Courtney Benson won the all-Around Title -- this time at the John Zuerlein Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Friday night. The Pipers' total of 174.550 placed them in third place behind UW-La Crosse and the host school. They edged out MIAC foe Gustavus for third.

Benson didn't win any individual titles but showed good balance for her score of 37.350 points. She was second in Floor Exercise (9.575) and tied for second in Balance Beam (9.450). She was fourth in Uneven Parallel Bars (9.100) and seven in Vault (9.225). Other Pipers with notable showings included: Jacklyn Clement (fifth in the Vault with 9.300) , Summer Haag and Corinne Stiffler (tied for eighth in Balance beam with 8.975) and Murielle Mischook (9th, Floor Exercise, 9.100).

Hamline competes at UW-Oshkosh Feb. 4.
