It's not likely to be a repeat of their lats game at home. But the Piper women's bb team is happy to play on familiar boards. The first game of 2012 is the team's first game at Hutton Arena since Dec. 3 when they exploded for a 106-100 double overtime victory over St. Catherine's. Since then, they have played five games away from home, dropping all of them. HU brings a 2-6 overall mark (1-4 MIAC) into tonight's 7:30 p.m. affair against a revived Augsburg team. A year ago, the Auggies only won five games all season. They have matched that total already with a 5-3 won-loss mark (2-3 MIAC).
HU has not played since December 20 when they lost to Lakeland (Wis.), 67-48, in a tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla. Tonight's tilt is the start of a stretch that sees coach Kerri Stockwell's team play seven of their next nine games at Hutton ... where they have recorded both of their victories. It's the first of three games this week. Carleton (1-7 overall, 0-5 MIAC) visits Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Hamline travels to St. Joseph to face St. Benedict (5-3, 2-3).
