Late Goal Does In Men's Hockey

Beau Christian held strong but his teammates couldn't hold off a surging Milwaukee School of Engineering team. As a result, the Pipers lost their fourth game in a row, an excruciating 2-1 decision Friday night in Wisconsin. Hamline fell to 5-7 overall. Cam Stowers gave HU a lead when he scored early in the second period with assists to Nick Widing and Ryan McElhone. But the Raiders came back for two third period goals ... with the winning tally coming with just 3:49 left in regulation time.

The Pipers had a late opportunity when they went on a power play in the last 89 seconds of play but couldn't get the equalizer. Brian Arrigoni led the HU offense with six shots on goal.

Christian recorded 28 saves, including 13 in the final period. The Pipers return to action Dec. 30 vs. Neumann in Oswego, NY.
