Roylas Pull Away From Pipers For 4-1 Women's Hockey Decision

Brittney Dwire and Nicole Jones provided bright spots but the Piper women's hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision at Bethel Friday night. Dwire's first goal of the season at 3:59 of the second period offset a first period BU tally. But the Royals struck twice late in the second period and added an empty net tally in the final minute to drop Hamline to 1-5-1 for the season, 0-4-1 in the MIAC.

Jones, however, played strongly, kicking out 31 shots. Her teammates responded with 20 on goal, led by Corinne Henning, who had four.

The team repair to Warner Coliseum Saturday night for the rematch. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
